Distances:
Classes 1-4  -  9 miles  -  6 laps - 0 portages
Classes 6-12  -  6 miles  -  4 laps - 0 portages
Classes 15-21  -  3 miles - 2 laps  -  0 portages


Race entries: If you are part of a club team, your Team Leader will place your entry. Registered Team Leaders and Independent paddlers should send race entries to Secretary@FlatwaterRacing.org.uk by 12 noon Saturday. To register as a Team Leader or Independent paddler for the current series, see the WS Registration page.

Safety Notes:
All participants must be aware that canoeing and kayaking is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk.

In addition, please note that
  • Paddlers must ensure that their boats have sufficient buoyancy to support the boat and crew in the event of capsizing. Boats will be checked.
  • All competitors must be able to swim 50m in canoe clothing.
  • All competitors must wear a buoyancy aid for this race.
Please note that Barking would be very grateful for any offers of help to man safety boats to accompany the youngest paddlers. B&D can supply boats. Please contact [TO BE CONFIRMED] if you can help.

Location & Parking:
Booking in & launching will take place at the Barking & Dagenham CC clubhouse, 1 Porter House, Seawall Court, Abbey Road, Barking IG11 7GQ. The area surrounding the clubhouse is subject to parking control.
  • Parking for cars and trailers will be [TO BE CONFIRMED]. There will be some signs out, and marshals instructing people where to park to avoid blocking any areas.
  • The option to park in the club car park is still there for any competitors with a disability. Spaces must be pre-booked - please contact [TO BE CONFIRMED]
  • No other vehicles will be permitted into the club car park.
