SS 2016, Regatta 4: B. Stortford

The fourth and final event of the 2016 Summer Sprint Regattas was hosted by Bishops Stortford Canoe Club on 11 September. Stortford, Chelmsford, HYM-COPS, Ealing and Leaside clubs took part and the good turnout of 46 competitors were able to enjoy a full programme of K1 and K2 races in very pleasant late-summer weather.

The morning consisted of 500m and 200m K1 heats, followed by 500m and 2000m K2s  in the afternoon. There was catering throughout the day in the form of a BBQ and a generous supply of homemade cakes.

GB Paddler Noah Dembele kindly came along to present the awards at the end of the day. After the medals for the day's racing came the presentation of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for the 2016 Summer Series as a whole, based on each paddler's best three performances in the four-regatta series (but with a minimum of two regatta entries to be eligible).

u18 Boys - Lawrence Minter (HYM)
u23 Ladies - Catherine Robinson (BSF)
u23 Men - Joe Webb (HYM)
